Never Let Me Go
We begin with Sam and Daphne leaving the party and walking into the woods. He denies knowing the “secret” to which she was referring. Daphne runs off and Sam spots a deer, which promptly turns back into a nude Daphne. She had spotted dog-Sam jump into the water the other night. They run into Terry and Arlene, who are all over each other. “Good party,” Terry says.
Sookie chases down fellow telepath Barry in the hall of the hotel. He’s terrified of having his ability discovered, particularly given how tough the vampires are in Dallas: “If they knew what we could do they would suck us dry.” Sookie wants to swap stories but Barry blows her off.
Back in the room Bill is yelling at Jessica for ordering a man. Jessica storms off and Bill warns her about wandering off by herself. She promises not to do anything stupid.
Jessica calls Hoyt. They share that each can’t stop thinking about the other.
Jason and the rest of the Soldiers of the Sun begin a marines-like boot camp. Sarah and a drill instructor are running the show
Tara and Eggs wake up in bed together. She shows him a picture of Gran and they talk about how special the previous night was.
Sookie sneaks out of bed and finds Barry down in the lobby. Neither has ever met another telepath before. Barry thinks they have a “curse.” Sookie tries to help him fine-tune his telepathy but Barry wants no part of it. Sookie climbs back in bed and tells Bill about meeting Barry. He’s concerned she’ll be discovered. Bill’s worried about how intense Eric is being about finding Godric.
Daphne and Arlene bicker at the start of their shift at Merlotte’s. Sam walks to the bar and they talk about getting together again. Lafayette shows up and asks Sam for his job back but won’t say anything about where he has been. Sam says yes.
Back at boot camp one of the ‘soldiers’ can’t keep up. Jason wants to help while Luke is ready to leave him behind.
Tara comes downstairs to find Maryann in the kitchen. She slept over and suggests her gang might need a place to stay for awhile. Tara isn’t keen on the idea. She ends up having a fight with Eggs about his relationship with Maryann. Eggs thinks Tara doesn’t understand the nature of family.
Luke is too tired to get over a fence. Jason ends up helping him over the obstacle, displaying leadership that has Sarah smiling.
Bill, Sookie and Eric meet with Stan and Isabel, two of Godric’s lieutenants. Stan wants to move forward with a full-on attack but Isabel isn’t so sure.
After boot camp Sarah and Steve have a fight which seems to revolve around Steve shutting her out of major decisions. Jason walks up and Steve takes him to Light of Day’s weapons stockpile.
Maryann pulls up in a car outside Merlotte’s and closes her eyes in intense focus. Within seconds everyone in the place is fighting back and forth and Tara is miserable. Maryann smiles and drives off.
Jason is soaking in a bathtub. Sarah walks in and locks the door behind him. She starts washing him with a loofah and Jason gets nervous. Sarah relays the story of Mary washing Jesus’ feet and ends up with her hand, uh, below the water level.
Bill suggests to Stan and Isabel that Sookie’s near-capture means there is a leak in their operation. Sookie wants to infiltrate the Fellowship of the Sun and read a few minds. Stan hates the idea and storms off but Eric gives the green light. Bill wants to know why Eric is so fired-up to find Godric which leads to a flashback:
Eric is a powerful warrior who has just been mortally wounded during a battle. Two of his fellow soldiers agree to stay with him that night until he dies. As Eric rests a youthful-looking vampire shows up and kills his two friends. The vampire, Godric, tells Eric he is impressed with his skills on the battlefield and offers to make him a vampire. Godric is Eric’s maker.
After close at Merlotte’s Sam and Daphne get it on on a pool table.
Sookie asks about Barry at the front desk and learns he has quit his job.
After the difficult shift Tara changes her tune and asks Maryann if she will stay at Sookie’s place with them. Maryann says she is good to Tara because “You need it so much and because it makes you bloom like a flower.” Tara goes upstairs and makes up with Eggs.
Bill tells Sookie how much the other vampires bothered him, even suggesting they go back to Bon Temps. Sookie tells him the mission will be “easy-peasy” and they start fooling around.
A mysterious woman walks in slo-mo down the hall of the hotel. She appears to hear Sookie’s thoughts and her fangs pop out. On closeup, it is Lorena, who is Bill’s maker.
