The Smile Train
Over the holidays (and Alexander’s name day Dec. 12th) we struggled with the decision of which charitable cause to take on next. After discussing it with Alexander we decided on The Smile Train. A wonderful charity very near and dear to my heart. What is The Smile Train you ask…
“The Smile Train mission is to help the millions of very poor children in developing countries who are suffering with unrepaired clefts (lips and palates). The only reason these children have NOT been helped is because they’re poor. The problem of clefts in developing countries is an economic problem – not a medical one. The families of these children – often living on less than $1 a day – are too poor to ever afford to pay for surgery.”
Once again Alexander’s wonderful fans pulled together and, through combined efforts, we we’re able to raise $1,160.00 in Alexander’s name. That was enough in donations to provide surgeries for FOUR “tiny teacup humans”….
We were thrilled and the tall blond guy sent over a note sharing his thanks…
