Alexander Skarsgård is the Team Ambassador for Team US/Team Noom Coach. He is joining the team that consists of (in order of the photos above): Therese Frentz (Team Member); Mark Wise (Team Member); Margaux Mange (Team Member); Ivan Castro (Team Member); Inge Solheim (Team Guide); Ed Parker (Team Mentor) and Alex.
The other two teams will have Prince Harry with Team Glenfiddich and The Wire‘s Dominic West will form part of the Commonwealth Team. All three teams have been training for the grueling 208-mile race, which will test their fitness and determination levels to the maximum. The trek will be even more difficult for some of the other team members, the majority of who have suffered physical or mental injuries in the line of duty. The three teams will fly to Cape Town, South Africa, on November 16 before flying to Novo, Antarctica, where they will spend a few days checking kit and acclimatising. They will then be flown 87°C south to begin the race. The charity trek is expected to last around 15 days, with the teams setting off on 1 December and hoping to cross the finish line by 16 December. Facing strong winds and temperatures as low as -45°C, the groups will trek for around 10 miles per day while pulling heavy sleds. Source: Hello Magazine

Three teams of wounded servicemen and women are embarking upon on one of the most high profile expeditions of modern times, racing across 3° to the Geographic South Pole. Wounded from the UK, the US and the Commonwealth (Australia and Canada) will embark on this grueling challenge
Why? To show the world the extraordinary courage and determination of the men and women who have been wounded while serving our countries, and to remind us all of the help and support we owe them.
When? Following extensive training, from cold weather training in Iceland in March, to team training through the summer, and a final session of snow preparation in October, the teams will fly to Antarctica in November. They aim to reach the South Pole around 17th December 2013.
