As with all the True Blood shows, I loved it! The way Eric called for Yvetta sent shivers through me, how he said just that one word and did not look around even as she moved up beside him. He knew and expected that she would obey. Alex, you give Eric that presence and power that a vampire should definitely have. You’ll probably never read this or have time to answer, but if you miraculously do and feel comfortable answering, I’ve a query for you. There are definite BDSM tones in Eric’s relationships with women. He is obviously the Dominant, and a damn good one too! Are you at all into BDSM? The power that you convey comes quite naturally to you and brings Eric to life like no other could. Whether you are or not, I for one (and I’m sure thousands of other fans) delight in and appreciate the presence you give to Eric’s character. The very fact that you ‘play him down’, that he very rarely yells, that he retains his cool proves that he is used to being heeded and obeyed.
As for more thoughts on the last episode…I was surprised that Yvetta was offended that Eric had willed all his estate to Pam. It’s apparent that she feels more for him than he does for her. And I think that Pam likes Yvetta more than Eric does. At first I thought Pam would be angry with Yvetta as well but she chastises Eric for being an asshole to Yvetta. Quite interesting indeed! Sookie doesn’t seem to trust Bill as much as she spouts to Eric that she does. That’s one of the reasons she came to Fangtasia, that and to say goodbye to Eric. I think she is drawn to him more than she admits even to herself. Other than the fairy blood, I’m always left wondering why Eric is so interested in Sookie, but I guess every tall handsome Viking needs some little blonde obsession in his life. Sookie’s not all that bright in the books, and though the show has given her more intelligence…she’s still lacking a bit in that area. Still, she’s cute and really, I probably couldn’t have done any better. Well…actually I’d have ditched Bill for the stronger Eric, but perhaps the main reason he wants Sookie is because she’s a challenge. And now Eric has her chained in his basement. Delicious! It’ll be interesting to see how Tara reacts to the knowledge that Jason killed Eggs. The romance between Lafayette and Jesus is a delight and a good way to add ‘down time’ into the mostly harrowing plot. I’m certain there are many more delicious twists and turns to come and I very much look forward to seeing them play out!!! I hope this series stays on for years and years and years! In the vampire-flooded entertainment media stream, True Blood is definitely a fresh, naughty, sassy look at those creatures of the night that have fascinated us for centuries.
This episode was great! I loved the Eric and Sookie scenes. I really enjoyed the scene where he was saying goodbye to her and then kissed her! It was sooo romantic! I believe he truly cares for her, as much as he can. He has never tasted her blood, yet he longs for her and fantasizes about her. Everytime he moves forward with Sookie, however it seems like he then takes ten steps back. He chained her in the basement because he has come up with a plan to defeat Russell, and she will be part of the plan. It is not just about revenge now, Russell needs to be taken out because he is a threat to humans and the vampires who have been wanting equal rights. Russell wants to conquer humans, not live equally with them. He`s a raving lunatic at this point and dangerous to anyone he comes in contact with.
Eric sees Yvetta for what she is. He has been around 1000 years and has been with countless number of women. Why should he give her anything? Pam is his progeny, and the only family he has. She has been loyal and faithful to him . Yvetta is only his employee. There are thousands of women like Yvetta, but only one Sookie to Eric. I do think that Yvetta may play some part in Eric getting cursed and losing his memory. The witch in the book was spurned by Eric, similar to Yvetta and “Hell hath no fury…”.
I think Sookie is REALLY starting to have doubts about Bill. She wanted Eric to tell her the truth, but Eric wants Bill to be the one to tell her. I just hope Eric can redeem himself with Sookie, somehow. She needs to be told about Pam and the Magister, and Eric`s history with Russell. Then she will know his true motives, and not think he was working with RE.
Mr High-Handed! You have to love it; it’s not very nice to chain her up but it is so Eric! I too feel you haven’t seen the last of Yvetta. The cliffhangers have started and O I can’t wait! Bring on “Dead To The World” my favorite book! How is Jesus gonna play into it; well he be a “good” witch or a “bad” one?
Finally a real kiss, not a fantasy or dream but a kiss. Eric must really like challenges because every time he gains a little ground with Sookie, he ends up losing a few yards. She started to trust him on her porch while he told her about the wolves, but looses it at Russells. Knowing the danger she’s in, she goes to Eric only to have him chain her up. I find it a little funny that Bill feels toward Eric the same way Tara feels toward Bill; did anyone else get that?
I get strength from Tare and Sam. How they have to fortitude to go on…WOW! I’m not really liking Tommy right now. I feel he pushed Sam into this state and he’s just a little punk! Having said that I hope they work things out. Sam needs a friend; someone like himself and Tommy could learn a lot from Sam if he’ll stop being an ass long enough to listen to him…kids! LOL!! And Tara: To find out someone you loved and thought of as a protector killed the love of your life; that just too deep for me to phantom.
Until Sunday and then one more show; o no! What to do then…
